On Thursday December 27th, 2007, Benazir Bhutto was Assassinated by the cowardly organization called Al-Qaeda. Benazir is a Martyr in every sense of the word. She never backed down from her beliefs and always had the people of Pakistan on her mind; She was a genuine hero. She now lives on forever in the minds of everyone who loved her, she is now forever bold, forever young, and forever a champion of the people. Her story will be told for generations and her torch will burn brightly forever.
First off, I was no proponent of the Bush administration trying to conjure up the idea that ‘Iraq has weapons of mass destruction’ in order to get a consensus to go to war. However, this is a completely different situation where there is an International consensus that Iran has ambitions to produce a nuclear bomb.
Iran insists that their nuclear research is for peaceful purposes only. I would be willing to entertain this idea if we were talking about a moderate country. However, Iran is a radical country whose leader has called for the destruction of another sovereign state, and made outrageous statements disputing that the holocaust ever occurred, not to mention all the other fiery spew that comes out of Ahmadinejad’s mouth.
It is quite clear that Iran has nuclear ambitions, and they aren’t going
to fool anyone by stating otherwise.
What is wrong with the Bush administration?
It has been several days since hurricane Katrina ravaged the gulf coast, yet aid is just starting to get there. It's not like Louisiana and Mississippi are third world countries or something. These are American citizens who have been in desperate need of help since Monday, and now they are being provided too little too late. The loss of life from hurricane Katrina would likely be much less if the Bush administration had made relief for this disaster a first priority. This is an absolute disgrace! If your heart aches for the people effected by hurricane Katrina like mine does, then follow this link to find out more about how you can help out.
Studies have shown that Lysine helps the absorption of calcium in the body, and also reduces its excretion. When my nephew broke the bones in his foot in several places falling off an ATV, I decided to put this knowledge to the test. After the surgeon placed pins in my nephew’s foot to realign the bones, I put him on 1500 mg of Calcium and 500 mg of Lysine per day for the week starting the day after his foot was set by the pins. When the doctor saw him after a week, he was amazed at the healing progress. This is coming from a family whose bones have not healed quickly in the past. Supplementing with Calcium and Lysine together should have a similar effect for the prevention of osteoporosis. One of the biggest things that the elderly are concerned about is osteoporosis, and this could be a simple answer to that problem.
Beware the liver cleanse.
My housemate had a gall stone attack about a month ago where we had to rush him to the emergency room late at night. It was suggested by the doctor that he have his gall bladder removed because a large calcified stone showed up in a set of X-rays that the hospital took of his abdomen. I personally didn’t like the thought of someone losing an organ just because of one stone, so I started to search on the Internet for alternative remedies for gall stones. I found several sites that claim an Epsom salt, olive oil and lemon juice concoction can purge your liver and gall bladder of gall stones. The ingredients seemed harmless enough, so I decided to convince my housemate to try this before he agreed to surgery. As an incentive, I told him that I would go through the process with him as well. In addition to this, my other housemate decided to join in for support. To make a long story short, the results suggest that this concoction does not eliminate gall stones from the gall bladder and liver, but rather just collects junk that has accumulated in your intestines and releases it as little balls of material in your feces. I must admit that this seems like a great way to clean out your intestines, but it did not cause the release of any gall stones in any of us. We had three different results. My experience with this concoction was just some greenish slime that came out when I was supposed to expect these so called gall stones. The housemate that had the gall stone attack release balls of material, but it had no green (bile) tint, and they were very mushy. My other housemate, who suffers from constipation, released many balls of green junk. He has already had his gall bladder removed many years ago. Being that he has chronic constipation, it is likely that the balls were a mixture of bile, olive oil, and material that was caked on the inside of his intestines. When the housemate that had the attack finally got his gall bladder removed, all the stones were still there, as further evidence that the olive oil and lemon juice concoction does not release gall stones. Also, he had a stone blocking his bile duct, and that had to be removed before the gall bladder was removed. There would have been no way that the “stones” could have gotten around the blocked duct and would also explain why there was no green tint to his balls (because the bile was blocked from being excreted). My conclusion is that the olive oil and lemon juice concoction is a great way to cleanse out the intestines, but does nothing at all to cleanse out the gall bladder. Perhaps there might be some minor liver cleansing, but that would have to be explored further.
Least expensive quality AWD vehicle.
Before I bought my last vehicle, I was possibly in the market for an All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicle so that I wouldn't have to worry about changing to snow tires every winter. One of the cars that I considered because of its low cost was the Suzuki Aerio SX AWD, but when I saw the dash, I almost lost my lunch. Well, my loss for not waiting to buy, because the 2005 Suzuki Aerio SX AWD has a redesigned interior, and it is very nice. They have also added Automatic climate control standard and a 155 HP engine. All this comes at a price under $17,000 with anti-lock brakes and side air bags. If I was in the market to buy a new car, I would truly go out and buy one of these today, no kidding. To learn more about the Suzuki Aerio, follow this link.

My trip to Las Vegas
Las Vegas is truly a city one has to experience at least once in their lives. I just got back from visiting Las Vegas this past weekend. This was my 8th trip there, and the town gets better with every visit.
There is so much to do besides gambling in Las Vegas. You have a huge assortment of shows available. Some of my favorite shows were Blue Man Group, "O" by Cirque Du Soleil, and Mystere by Cirque Du Soleil. In fact, this last trip, I saw Cirque Du Soleil's latest show, called KA, and it was great. The greatest thing about the Las Vegas Cirque Du Soleil shows is that each theater is custom designed for that specific show, and you have to see these sets to believe them. "O" has a stage made of water! Yes, it is a pool that literally changes depth throughout the show. Mystere has a stage that sinks and rises, and KA has a stage that seems to float and tilt! KA also has a set that makes you feel as if you walked into a Star Trek episode.
Get to Las Vegas at least once. Believe me, you will love it.
FREE Office Software Suite!
You can't beat this! A free office suite called Open Office that opens and saves in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint format, as well as other office suite formats. Why pay hundreds of dollars on an office productivity suite when you can get one absolutely free. It doesn't get better than this, folks. I've tested this out and it's great.

How this election may doom us
It's very unfortunate that this election turned out the way it did. Unfortunately the ultra conservatives tapped into the minds of the bible thumpers and injected fear that a vote for Kerry would destroy the "moral" thread of the country. Some of you may not understand just how dangerous this trend is. The very reason that the first amendment of the constitution was created was to guarantee freedom of, and from, religion. Thomas Jefferson, a founding father and the person who drafted this amendment declared that there must be a separation of church and state. He understood that the views of one religion should not be imposed on all others. Laws are created to enforce moral behavior, but these laws are meant to enforce only near universally accepted views of what is moral and what is not. Some examples of actions that are near universally deemed immoral are murder, rape, theft, and the like. The point is that what is deemed immoral by one religion is not necessarily deemed immoral by others, but there is plenty of common ground when considering certain actions such as murder, rape, and theft. This is where the brilliance of Separation of Church and State comes in, so that one religion can not impose its views on the rest of the country. Simply put, people should not be voting based on how their religious leaders tell them to vote. When this happens, the religion that falls with the majority ends up running the government and imposing its views on the country as a whole. If this trend continues, then we will be taking several steps back in history to a point where the Church ruled the people through their leaders. I don't think I need to explain how the country of Iran is run. Please don't let the United States of America become the Christian Fundamentalist version of Iran. This trend will continue now that the bible thumpers have been unleashed into the political field. What we need is an ocean of progressives to counter this trend and take back America. You can start taking back America during the next congressional elections, two years from now, but we must ramp up support starting this instant.

Republican Survivor
I just bumped into this hilarious site. If you are a Democrat or just can't stand the Bush administration, you will find this very humorous too. It's basically a spoof of the TV show Survivor, but with Conservative Republicans as the contestants. You can find the site here http://www.dtriptv.org/.
Unrelated, but I saw what will be the 2008 or 2009 Nissan Skyline GTR coming to the United States. I'm in love. I currently have a Infiniti G35 coupe, but I think I will be trading it in in 2008 or 2009 for the Skyline GT-R. Update: I traded in my G35 for a car that won't dent. I wanted to keep the performance aspect, so I went to Saturn and bought a Saturn ION Redline. Great power, awesome handling, just not nearly as much panache, but what is the value of panache, really.

Democracy Meet-Up
I just got back from my first 'Democracy For America' meet up. This event is held once a month and is an informal meeting at various local establishments though out the country. Mine happened to be in the town of Beacon where I live. It was held in a local cafe, and about a dozen people attended. This seems to be a very good idea as it gets like minded people in the community together to talk about how things should change, and how to get people out to vote, etc. Democracy For America is an organization that wants to shift the political system back towards the people of this country, and from the control of special interest groups. I intend on going to more of these meet-ups and will report anything interesting that comes out of my local event. Feel free to follow this link and sign up for a meet up near you. Let's take our country back! http://www.democracyforamerica.com
Petrodollar
I just had my eyes opened the other day when I read an essay
online which described the real reasons for the war in Iraq. My previous thoughts
were that, yes, Saddam Hussein was a threat to the United States, and if he
acquired a nuclear capability, he would have no problem either using this on
us, or selling it to some Al Qaeda operative, who would in turn use the device
on us. I am still convinced that Saddam Hussein would use nuclear weapons capability
against the United States, but I've come to realize that Saddam wasn't even
close to developing nuclear weapons, and I had fallen for the Bush Administrations
lies. Boy, was I mad when I realized that Americans were being lied to by the
Bush Administration. I actually liked the guy before finding this out, and
it doesn't stop with Saddam Hussein either. God knows what is being covered
up with the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal, but I digress.
Basically I learned that the true reason for the Iraq war was mainly socioeconomic. There was a time when oil could only be purchased with American dollars, hence the petrodollar, but after the first Iraq war, Saddam Hussein changed to selling oil for Euros. When oil could only be purchased with dollars, that meant the every country on the planet that needed to import oil would have to stock up with dollars in their central bank to buy energy. If their was a domino effect caused by Saddam where other oil producing countries switch to a petroeuro, which some were considering, then the American economy would be crippled. Shortly after the second Iraq war, this latest one, the selling of oil in Iraq was changed back to the petrodollar format. Notice how no one made a big deal about this. I'm sure no one read about this on any of the standard media news outlet web sites.
If anyone is interested in reading the same essay that I got this information from, here is the link. It is a very long read, but very insightful. http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/RRiraqWar.html
